Pierre Cazenave

Dr Cazenave's current research focuses on the application of unstructured grid modelling in coastal environments, using the Finite Volume Community Ocean Model (FVCOM).

PML have coupled ERSEM (a biogeochemical model) to FVCOM to allow high resolution modelling of ecosystems. This is being used to assess the impacts of marine renewable energy devices (e.g. offshore wind farms), aquaculture, carbon sequestration and storage, and microplastics on the continental shelf ecosystem.
