Christoph Böttner is a geophysicist with an MSc from Christian-Albrechts-Univeristy of Kiel and currently doing his PhD at GEOMAR. His work is part of Work Package 3 in the STEMM-CCS project and deals with a conceptual model of chimney structures for CO2 leakage by evaluating reflection seismic data, numeric models and drilling logs. Other research topics among fluid migration in marine sediments are submarine mass movements, gas hydrates and extension in marine forearcs.
