Henry Ruhl is Associate Head of the Ocean Biogeochemistry and Ecosystems at NOC. His scientific focus is on researching deep-sea ecology and human impact on the marine environment. He studies links between changes in climate conditions and subsequent changes in surface productivity, POC fluxes into the deep sea, and the response of abyssal fauna. He has also worked on ecological mapping of the deep-sea and continental shelf using autonomous underwater vehicles to understand human impact on biogeochemical and ecological function.
