Prof Christian Berndt is a geophysicist with an MSc from Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel and a PhD from the University of Oslo. After many years in the US, Norway and the UK he became professor of marine geophysics at GEOMAR in 2008. His main research focus is fluid migration in marine sediments including its consequences such as submarine slope stability and gas hydrate dynamics. He leads work package 3 in STEMM-CCS.
